(Description)","value":"　狭山神社本殿の石段を登ると右側に稲荷社があります。明治政府による「一つの村に主要な神社は一社とする」との方針によって、明治39年(1906）、狭山神社境内に遷されました。それまでは、江戸時代からの新田開発による畑が続く南の前野の呼ばれる地域（現・第四小学校の北側、都営アパートの付近）にありました。\r\n江戸時代の地誌\r\n『新編武蔵風土記稿』は\r\n・稲荷社 見捨地、七八間四方、わづかなる祠なり、\r\n『狭山之栞』は\r\n・前野稲荷は字前野に在り。神木の大杉廻り一丈三尺余(約4メートル）ありしが、自然立枯れ遂には赤味ばかり数十年残り居り、田無柳澤辺よりも望み得る程の高さなりしが弘化三丙午年(1846)二月二日の大風にてたおれその跡を失ふ。\r\n俗に枯杉稻荷と呼び伝ふ。境内に紅葉の大木あり、廻り八尺余なりしが維新の際伐りて神官の復飾料に供す。\r\nと記しています。村人達にとって、稲荷社は天候の安定、豊作を願う神でした。そのため、各屋敷に屋敷神としてまつることも多かったのですが、前野稲荷は特別に村でまつっていたようです。創立年代は不明です。一丈三尺余（4メートル）の大杉があったことは年代の古さを思わせ、屋敷神をまつる以前の集団的な講の存在を想定させます。\r\n弘化三(1846)の大風\r\n『狭山之栞』は弘化三年(1846)二月二日の大風を伝えます。この日は、隣接の中藤村(現・武蔵村山市）に残る『指田日記』にも\r\n大風。宅部の杉本失火、類焼三軒\r\nと記されています。村山貯水池に沈んだ宅部(現在の下貯水池取水塔のある辺り）で火災が発生して三光院が焼失しています。住職が氷川神社の別当をしていたため、氷川神社の貴重な棟札も焼失しています。\r\n一方で、「きつねの恩返し」（『東大和のよもやまばなし』p179）の伝承を生み、当時の人々の優しさ、生活を偲ばせます。\r\nこの時、前野の稲荷社に残されていた神木の大杉が倒れたのでしょう。\r\n\r\n"}],"sequences":[{"@id":"https://higashiyamatoarchive.net/omeka/index.php/iiif/1620/sequence/normal","@type":"sc:Sequence","label":"Current
